Anthropic launches Claude for Small Business — AI that works inside the tools you already use

Anthropic just launched Claude for Small Business, a package of connectors and ready-to-run workflows that puts Claude inside the tools small businesses already depend on — QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, DocuSign, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365.

This is not another chatbot. This is AI that does actual work inside your existing stack.

Why this matters

Small businesses account for 44% of U.S. GDP and employ nearly half the private-sector workforce. But their AI adoption has lagged behind larger enterprises. Tools and training are rarely tailored to how small businesses actually operate. Most small business owners' experience with AI stops at a chat window.

Claude for Small Business changes that by meeting business owners where they already work.

As Daniela Amodei, Anthropic's Co-founder and President, put it:

"Small businesses make up nearly half the American economy, but they've never had the resources of bigger companies. AI is the first technology that can finally close that gap. Claude for Small Business runs inside the tools owners already rely on, like QuickBooks, PayPal, and HubSpot, and takes on the work that piles up after hours."

How it works

  1. Toggle on Claude for Small Business inside Claude Cowork
  2. Connect the tools you already use (QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, etc.)
  3. Pick the job — Claude does the work, you approve before anything sends, posts, or pays

It ships with 15 ready-to-run agentic workflows across finance, operations, sales, marketing, HR, and customer service, plus 15 skills built on the repeatable tasks owners told Anthropic slow them down most.

What can it actually do?

Here are the workflows that stand out for small business owners:

Plan payroll with confidence

Settle your QuickBooks cash position against incoming PayPal settlements, build a 30-day forecast, rank what's overdue, and queue the reminders for you to approve and send.

Close the month with fewer errors

Reconcile your books against settlements, flag what doesn't match, write a plain-English P&L, and export a close packet you can forward straight to your accountant through Intuit QuickBooks.

Get a pulse on your business

Surface your most important business insights on a schedule, all on one page: view your cash position through QuickBooks, sales trends, pipeline movement, and this week's commitments.

Run your next campaign

Find the slow stretch in your revenue, analyze your HubSpot campaign performance, draft the promo strategy, and generate the assets in Canva to prepare your next send.

Other workflows include an invoice chaser, margin analyzer, month-end prepper, tax-season organizer, contract reviewer, lead triager, and content strategist.

The connected stack

Running through Claude Cowork, each connected tool handles a specific job:

  • PayPal — settlements, invoicing, disputes, and refunds
  • Intuit QuickBooks — payroll planning, monthly close, cash flow, tax prep, and reconciliation
  • HubSpot — lead triage, customer pulse, and campaign attribution
  • Canva — content generation for every channel
  • DocuSign — contract review and approval
  • Google Workspace — email, docs, sheets, and calendar
  • Microsoft 365 — email, docs, spreadsheets, and scheduling

What this means for developers and builders

If you're building tools for small businesses, this is a signal: the future is agentic workflows inside existing tools, not standalone AI chat windows. Your customers want AI that does work, not AI that just talks about work.

For developers building on Anthropic's platform, this is also a reference architecture: connect to existing business systems, build repeatable workflows, and always keep a human in the loop for approval.

The bottom line

Claude for Small Business is the most practical AI rollout for small business we've seen so far. It's not a demo or a pitch deck — it's 15 workflows that do real work inside the tools business owners already pay for.

If you're a small business owner or a developer building for small businesses, this is worth exploring.
